On Sunday 1st October we had the pleasure of giving Cllrs Karen Walker and Gavin Heathcote a tour of the Paulton end of the Coal Canal. The timing coincided with a work party that were clearing the Historic Dry Dock, so they got a real feel for the volunteer led work that goes on at our canal.

They are embarking on a six month tour of community groups, projects, businesses and charities, across the local authority as part of an initiative to support rural communities around the local authority.

Derrick Hunt, Chairman of SCCS, hosted the tour and filled them in with the history of our canal.
